The origins of the Drider come from their close relation to the Dark Elves, and were among the few fey who lit the pyre themselves to burn the lost goddess [[Foli]]. Instead of fleeing in terror from her new form and despairing over the curse, these select few instead knelt before the sheer power of the being they created, and swore their loyalty to her cause. Whether from fear, genuine interest, or to continue their sick perversions will forever be unknown. In return for this, the goddess chose to change their curse, turning them from simple elves which they would have soon become, and instead granted them the ability to infest, destroy and devour the gifts of [[Arvora]], the fallen goddess of life who abandoned her in her time of need. Soon after they set forth, creating web like hives and disrupting ecosystems from the [[Fey Wilds]] to the provinces, ensuring that the legacy of their mistake would be known throughout every plane that they resided upon.
