Description

Manateen Grass is a tall rapidly growing kelp that is both high in nutritional value and durability if treated correctly, the plant itself measures up to twelve meters when fully grown with a thickness of five centimeters, the plant can be cut without dying multiple times before failing due to the natural end of its life cycle. The nutritional value of Manateen Grass is pound-for-pound above that of cereal grain crops such as wheat. This density of calories has led it as a staple in the diet of some coastal communities, substituting cereal crops for the kelp for a more reliable staple foodstuff. If dried and baked the plant becomes both waterproof and ridged in strength.

Location

Universally in saltwater oceans, Typically in coastal waters. It is a very common plant in both tropical and warm oceans with it becoming less common in cooler climates.

Development

It begins life as a small nub upon underground rocks which it uses to anchor itself, from there it begins to grow as long thick ribbons for its lifespan of ten years, Over this time period it will have reproduced three times from which if the environment is suitable up to thirty instances of itself may have been established.

Material Properties

  • Manateen Grass is shredded and pressed can create a natural Ink that does not harm Syrien and can still dry underwater when used on stone. This has led it to be commonly used in what little written language exists below, as well as as a way to create a "Smokescreen" to protect blind foes beneath the sea if swirled around with some force after being exposed.
