Description

Swimming in the murky depths, a gigantic green scaled fish lurks. Extending up to 2 meters in length and weighing up to 600 pounds (with larger specimens being not uncommon), this monster of the oceans is called the (Unnamed). Despite its enormous size, deliciously fatty meat and otherwise overbearingly large exterior, the most notable feature of this beast is the singular giant eye that watches ahead of itself, as opposed to the standard two that are vastly more common amongst aquatic animals. Considered kings of the deep, these massive Cyclopia often swallow smaller ones whole for its diet, and its deep yet murky green scales allow it to be camouflaged and difficult to spot within the saltwater oceans in which it thrives.

Distribution

Oceans and the edges of shallows. They are considered Common.

Habitat

These creatures are relatively solitary saltwater fish who care little for the companionship of others, are very nomadic and often do not stay in one place for very long as they hunt for smaller fish to eat. These creatures are found all over the oceans of this world, especially in the deep.

Diet

The Cyclopias extreme size also requires an extreme diet in turn, consuming large quantities of smaller fish to maintain its form. Primarily carnivorous, it does not discriminate against what it eats, though sometimes smaller algae and other vegetation is a side product of this rather aggressive consumption.

Relations

Openly live and let live to other creatures, especially more of its kind unless it is breeding season. It then becomes aggressive and defensive for the duration, especially the females. The babies are called Cycluna.

Mechanics

  • The Cyclopia has many quick burst muscles, allowing it to go very fast very quick, but only in short bursts. It is otherwise known as a rather lazy fish due to the majority of its time drifting then actively moving about.

Material Properties

  • The skin of the Cyclopia can be used if kept moist as an adhesive wrapping which seems to be extremely effective at healing burn wounds, almost halving the time necessary to heal from them. In addition, scarring caused from 3rd degree burns would be far less obvious, as the skin seems to have some regenerative effect on burnt areas that naturally heal, at least in part, the burned out flesh.

Alchemical Properties

  • The Cyclopia's eye allows, when refined and reconstituted into an eyedrop solution, for eyesight underwater free of pain and with clear vision as if one was wearing goggles. If the water itself is too murky, then this has a limited effect. This lasts for 20 Turns.
    • If applied more then twice in 24 hours, the eyedrops still have the same effect, but cause extreme sensitivity to bright light.
